Westchester campus experienced intermittent smells of natural gas on two occasions last week. The intake vents captured this smell in certain areas within the building. Fordham Public Safety requested Con Edison and the local fire department. Both agencies responded and conducted an extensive check of our heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Piping was re-routed to preclude any recurrence of gas smells penetrating the intake vents. At no point was this dangerous to anyone, nonetheless the aforementioned plumbing work will prevent any future smells.
